[Note: I did contact the National Portrait Gallery to see if they still have Harriett Jay’s ‘large portrait of Mr. Robert Buchanan’ and received the following reply from Assistant Curator, Ruth Kenny: “The portrait in question is actually a large photograph. There is a letter to William Jay dated 12 Sept 1933 in Icon notes accepting it for the reference collection (deposit no 1045, now x11853). It is now listed as being in Large Portfolios and is catalogued as a sepia carbon print by an unknown photographer.
